It’s getting to be the new normal: A-listers are gravitating toward horror projects on both the small and big screen.
A new feature from Universal Pictures and Working Title–The Substance–has landed Golden Globe nominees Ray Liotta and Demi Moore, as well as Emmy nominee Margaret Qualley to headline, according to a report on Deadline.
The storyline of the film–from writer/director Coralie Fargeat (Revenge)–is being kept under lock and key, but it has been described as the filmmaker’s “explosive feminist take on body horror.”
The Substance–scheduled to start shooting this May in Paris–will be produced by Fargeat, Eric Fellner and Tim Bevan. Alexandra Loewy and Nicholas Royer will act as executive producers.
Liotta is perhaps best-known for his Henry Hill role in Goodfellas; Moore has starred in Ghost and A Few Good Men; and Qualley was featured in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and the Netflix miniseries Maid.
