Jeff Burr–perhaps best known for directing Leatherface: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre III–this week passed away in Dalton, Ga. from complications from a stroke, according to a report on Deadline. Burr was 60 years old.
Before helming 1990’s Leatherface, Burr kicked off his genre career with the Vincent Price-led From a Whisper to a Scream (1987) and Stepfather II: Make Room for Daddy (1989).
After his work on the fan-favorite Texas Chainsaw Massacre franchise, Burr moved on to direct Pumpkinhead II: Blood Wings (1993), Puppet Master 4 (1993), Puppet Master 5 (1994) and Puppet Master: Blitzkrieg Massacre (2018).
The staff of Horror News Network extends its condolences to Burr’s family, friends and colleagues.
