Horror Film ‘Rosario’ Fleshes Out Cast With Genre Actors

by Thomas Tuna

Sometimes the dead come back for more.

Rosario–described as a “high-concept horror film”–has its leading actors in place for the feature debut of director Felipe Vargas (the horror short Milk Teeth), according to Variety. The film–slated to start filming later this month in Bogota, Colombia–does not yet have a release window.

The feature–written by Alan Trezza (We Summon the Darkness)–stars David Dastmalchian (The Boogeyman), Jose Zuniga (Twilight), Diane Lein (Fear the Walking Dead), Paul Ben-Victor (The Irishman), Emilia Faucher (CODA) and Emeraude Toubia (Shadowhunters).

Set in New York, the movie follows Rosario (Toubia), a Wall Street stockbroker who becomes trapped in her estranged grandmother Griselda’s apartment during a snowstorm. Worse yet, Griselda has died, and supernatural forces possess her corpse.

All this leaves Rosario “the target of a deadly family curse–and she must battle her past to save herself and her soul.”
