Meditation can be the death of you.

Mindful–a new film that deals with the horrors of a possessed meditation app–has landed its lead before shooting starts in the third quarter of this year, according to a report on Deadline.

Jenny Slate (Venom) will star (and serve as executive producer) in the feature from director Perry Blackshear (They Look Like People) and screenwriter Les Bohem (A Nightmare on Elm Street 5: The Dream Child). No release window has been announced.

The film follows Angela (Slate), whose husband mysteriously dies while meditating on the Mindful app. She soon becomes “deeply suspicious of the new wellness craze and uncovers supernatural forces that have fused with the technology,” according to the synopsis.

As the app’s popularity spreads, “she is forced to confront her own demons and dive into the terrifying out-of-body experience in order to save the ones she loves.”

Tracey Nyberg is producing the film, with Aggregate Films serving as executive producer with Slate.
