by Thomas Tuna

The upcoming NEON horror flick Cuckoo has landed some crazy, big names as headliners.

The storyline of the film–written and directed by Tilman Singer–is shrouded in mystery at this early point in time, but the cast is coming together very nicely, as reported by Deadline.

Oscar nominee John Malkovich, Hunter Schafer (Euphoria), Gemma Chan (Crazy Rich AsiansCaptain Marvel) and Sofia Boutella (The MummyThe KingsmanThe Secret Service) will lead the ensemble, that will also include Jan Bluthardt, Zita Hanrot and Proschat Madani.

Cuckoo is Singer’s second film, following another horror movie, Luz, which premiered at the Berlin Film Festival in 2018 and won a Special Jury Prize for Best Horror Film at Fantastic Fest. NEON is financing the film, which has plans to start production next April.

Ken Kao and Josh Rosenbaum of Waypoint Entertainment are producing Cuckoo, alongside Markus Halberschmidt and Maria Tsigka of Fiction Park and Thor Bradwell.
