Are you reading the fantastic Afterlife with Archie comic? If not, you should be. In fact, while you’re at your local comic shop pick up the trade for “Escape from Riverdale.” This is top-notch writing and art and is easily one of the best comics of the year. For those reluctant to pick up something as old-school as Archie, I’ll tell you that it does have a tiny bit of the old, corny Archie feel, but Aguirre-Sacasa’s handling of the beginning of the zombie apocalypse is definitely fresh and new. I don’t have to say much about Francavilla’s art. A mere glimpse of the panels will blow your mind. Start reading this comic!
AFTERLIFE WITH ARCHIE #7

Now, they are wandering the deserted highways of America, one step ahead of the ever-pursuing vicious zombie horde. When they decide to set down roots to observe their first post-apocalypse Thanksgiving, Mr. Lodge leads a team into the forests of Pennsylvania to find dinner, but the hunters soon become the hunted, and not all of the gang will make it out of the woods alive! Script: Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa. Art: Francesco Francavilla, Jack Morelli. From Archie Comic Publications.
