Hollywood Legend Donald Sutherland Dies At Age 88

We have extremely sad news to pass along today as Hollywood legend Donald Sutherland has passed away the age of 88. He died Thursday in Miami after a long illness, according to a report on The Hollywood Reporter.

Sutherland appeared in a ton of movies and television shows including The Dirty Dozen, M*A*S*H, Kelly’s Heroes, Klute, Don’t Look Now, The Day of the Locust, Fellini’s Casanova, The Eagle Has Landed, 1900, Animal House, Invasion of the Body Snatchers, Backdraft, JFK, The Italian Job, Pride & Prejudice, The Hunger Games, Dirty Sexy Money, Frankenstein (2004), Salem’s Lot (2004), and Bear Island.

The actor received numerous accolades throughout his career, including a Primetime Emmy Award, and two Golden Globe Awards. In 2017 he was the recipient of an Academy Honorary Award.

Sutherland is survived by Survivors include his wife since 1972, actress Francine Racette; his four sons, actors Kiefer Sutherland, Rossif Sutherland and Angus Sutherland and CAA executive Roeg Sutherland; daughter Rachel, a veteran Hollywood postproduction supervisor; and four grandchildren.
