‘Hocus Pocus’ Trailer Conjures Up Spooky Misadventures

The Sanderson Sisters have returned to their witchy ways.

Hocus Pocus 2–Disney’s soon-to-be-here sequel to the 1993 Halloween staple–this week unveiled its first full trailer before its coming-out party later this month. Check out all the spooky teasers–courtesy of Screen Rant–on this page.

The film–slated for Disney+ Sept. 30–will see Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy reprise their roles as the Sandersons in a story that’s set 29 years after someone lit the Black Candle and resurrected the 17th-Century sisters who were executed for witchcraft.

Now, as one might imagine, the sisters are out for revenge, and “it’s up to three high school students to figure out how to stop the witches from wreaking a new kind of havoc on Salem before midnight on All Hallow’s Eve,” according to the synopsis.

Hocus Pocus 2–directed by Anne Fletcher from a screenplay by Jen D’Angelo–also brings back Doug Jones in his Billy Butcherson role, along with Whitney Peak, Lilia Buckingham, Belissa Escobedo, Hannah Waddingham, Tony Hale and Sam Richardson in all-new roles.
