The Sanderson Sisters now have a place to land–and it makes all the sense in the world.
Adam Shankman–producer of Hocus Pocus 2–confirmed this weekend on his Instagram account that the much-anticipated sequel to the 1993 original has indeed wrapped production and will hit Disney+ this Halloween. Check out his post–courtesy of Deadline–on this page.

A few days ago, one of the film’s stars, Bette Midler, posted that her part had wrapped, and now fans can rest in the knowledge that the entire film is in the can. And that the sequel has a very fitting debut window.
Disney has yet to announce that the movie will officially premiere on Halloween, Oct. 31, but that would now seem to be a safe bet.
Hocus Pocus 2 will see the return of Midler as Winifred Sanderson, Sarah Jessica Parker as Sarah and Kathy Najimy (a recent CT HorrorFest guest) as Mary, along with Doug Jones. Newcomers include Hannah Waddingham, Tony Hale, Sam Richardson, Juju Brener, Froy Gutierrez, Taylor Paige Henderson, Whitney Peak, Lila Buckingham, Belissa Escobedo and Nina Kitchen.
The sequel–directed by Anne Fletcher from a screenplay by Jen D’Angelo–will pick up 29 years after a teenager named Max lit the Black Flame Candle and resurrected the three 17-Century witches on Halloween night.
The sisters are now looking for revenge when they find themselves in present-day Salem, Mass. And it’s up to three high school students–who managed to tick off the witches–to stop them.
The original Hocus Pocus–directed by Kenny Ortega from a screenplay by Mick Garris and Neil Cuthbert–received lukewarm reviews, but has become a Halloween staple in the years since.
