Henry Cavill Lands Lead Role in ‘The Witcher’

Deadline is reporting that Henry Cavill has landed the role of Geralt of Rivia in the upcoming Netflix series The Witcher.

While Henry Cavill is most known for his role of Superman in Man of Steel, Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League, he is known to horror fans the role of Mike in 2005’s Hellraiser:Hellworld.

Written by Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski, The Witcher is a series of novels that tell tales of Witcher, Geralt of Rivia. Geralt is a monster hunter that travels the land battling the most horrific monsters and beasts.  Sapkowski’s books have gained a huge following and his creation has been adapted into comic books, video games, and more.

Lauren Schmidt Hissrich (Daredevil, The Defenders) is set to adapt the series for Netflix.
