Aw, crap.
The Crooked Man--the highly anticipated Millennium Media reboot of Hellboy–has found its Big Red Guy, according to a report on Deadline.
Jack Kesy (Deadpool 2) has signed on as Hellboy in the new feature that’s expected to start shooting in the coming months. No other casting choices have been announced at this point.
The remake is directed by Brian Taylor (Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance) from a screenplay by Hellboy creator Mike Mignola and Chris Golden.
The film’s storyline reportedly will find Hellboy stranded in 1950s rural Appalachia with a rookie BPRD agent. While there, “they discover a small community haunted by witches–led by a local devil with a troubling connection to Hellboy’s past: the Crooked Man,” according to the synopsis.
Hellboy debuted in San Diego Comic-Con Comics No. 2 back in 1993 before moving on to various one-shot comics and miniseries. The half-demon has appeared in three live-action features–two starring Ron Perlman (2004 and 2008) and a 2019 reboot with David Harbour.
