The Last of Us–the HBO adaptation of the Naughty Dog video game that has already captivated horror fans–will air Episode 8 next weekend, and a clip has arrived to tease the action to come. Check out the video on this page.
The teaser shows Joel–recovering from his injury–and Ellie meeting up with the group of survivors responsible for the attack. One of those survivors is James, played by original Joel portrayer Troy Baker.
The Last of Us–led by showrunners Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann–takes place in a post-apocalyptic world where the Cordyceps fungus has created a race of dangerous zombie-like creatures.
Struggling to survive in this nightmarish landscape is Joel (Pedro Pascal), who’s hired to smuggle 14-year-old Ellie (Bella Ramsey) out of a quarantine zone. That task is made all the more perilous by the death-dealing monsters that dog their every step.
The cast is rounded out by Gabriel Luna, Anna Torv, Nico Parker, Murray Bartlett, Nick Offerman, Merle Dandridge, Jeffrey Pierce, Lamar Johnson, Kelvonn Woodard and Ashley Johnson.
