Kirby Reed is ready for another round with Ghostface.
Hayden Panettiere–who debuted in the fourth installment in the Scream franchise–is reprising her role for the upcoming entry, and a recent set photo shows her preparing for her big return. Check out the Twitter post–courtesy of Screen Rant–on this page.

Panettiere–whose Kirby character seemed to die in Scream 4–said she was so anxious to be “resurrected” that she reached out to the filmmakers to see if there was a place for her in the sixth film. “I called them up myself,” she said. “I wanted to be in it that badly.”
Panettiere joins returning Scream veterans Courteney Cox, Melissa Barrera, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Mason Gooding and Jenna Ortega–along with newcomers Dermot Mulroney, Jack Champion, Liana Liberato, Devyn Nekoda, Josh Segarra and Henry Czerny. Unfortunately, Neve Campbell will not return as Sidney Prescott, due to conflicts with salary negotiations.
This next Scream–filming now toward a March 31, 2023 theatrical release–is directed again by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett and written by James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick.
The film–according to the short synopsis–will follow “the four survivors of the Ghostface killings as they leave Woodsboro behind and start a fresh chapter.” Their destination? New York City. Ghostface on the subways? Would anyone notice?
