‘Hannibal’ Star Wants To Tangle With A Horde Of Zombies

Be careful what you wish for.

Mads Mikkelsen–the actor who starred in Hannibal and who is currently headlining the new horror pic Dust Bunny--wants to expand his resume with another genre staple: zombies.

Mikkelsen said during a recent news conference at the Taormina Film Festival that he “love zombies. I’ve watched so many films since I was a kid, and it has always been fascinating,”

The actor added that “there’s something interesting about an enemy that moves so slow that you can actually picture yourself in that universe and get away from them and still get the thrill of being chased.” Except for World War Z, he added, “where they’re fast zombies.”

Dust Bunny–filming in Budapest now–tells the story of an eight-year-old girl who asks her neighbor to help her to kill the monster under her bed–the one she believes ate her family. The feature does not yet have a release window.
