‘Halloween Ends’ Dies At Box Office During Second Weekend

by Thomas Tuna

Talk about a blood-letting.

Blame it on bad reviews, poor word-of-mouth, day-and-date Peacock streaming or Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam. Pick your poison.

But Halloween Ends–which debuted at No. 1 at the domestic box office with a $41-million take last weekend–dropped a mind-numbing 80 percent this weekend, earning just $8 million and ending up in fourth place in the standings, according to Variety.

The final entry in the current Halloween trilogy from director David Gordon Green finds Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis) finishing up her memoir while living with her granddaughter Allyson (Andi Matichak).

But, when a young man named Corey Cunningham (Rohan Campbell) is accused of killing a boy he was babysitting, it sets off such a cascade of violence and terror that Laurie is forced to “finally confront the evil she can’t control.”

Halloween Ends also stars James Jude Courtney as Michael Myers, Will Patton, Kyle Richards, Omar Dorsey, Michael O’Leary and Nick Castle.
