Guillermo Del Toro’s Pinocchio

Variety is reporting that Guillermo Del Toro has signed on to co-direct "Pinocchio." The story is by Del Toro, Matthew Robbins and Gris Grimly with the film “embarking on a series of adventures and proving himself to be as indestructible as his love for his father.” Robins is said to have wrote the screenplay. Lisa Henson, the CEO of the Jim Henson Company said, “Guillermo has been so passionate about this project from its inception and it is an honor to have him bring his unique blend of live action and animation experience to this well-loved story.” The film will be a 3D stop-motion animation and scheduled to begin production in the Summer of 2013.
