Graphic Novel ‘Somewhere In Dreamland’ Gets Adaptation

by Thomas Tuna

To sleep, perchance…to die.

Somewhere in Dreamland–the feature film directorial debut for Colin Tilley–recently wrapped production, according to Variety. No release window has been announced at this time.

Tilley–known for his music videos for such artists as Cardi B and Justin Bieber–worked from a screenplay by Elisa Victoria and Michael Tully, who wrote the original graphic novel.

In the horror film, Anna (Whitney Peak) is grieving the sudden death of her parents as she relocates to a small Florida town from New York City in order to live with a grandmother (S. Epatha Merkerson) she’s never met.

While in Florida, Anna witnesses a shocking act of violence, and finds herself “ensnared by Mr. Sandman, who haunts bullies’ dreams before feasting on their eyeballs when they wake up,” according to the synopsis. At this point, insomnia sounds pretty good.

The cast is rounded out by Golda Rosheuvel, Finn Bennett and Laken Giles.
