Looks like even the Big Guys honor the picket lines.
Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire–the highly anticipated sequel to the 2021 box office smash Godzilla vs. Kong–is yet another genre film affected by the ongoing writers’ and actors’ strikes.
The release of the Legendary Pictures feature–from returning director Adam Wingard and screenwriters Terry Rossio, Jeremy Slater and Simon Barrett–this week was bumped back a month–to April 12, 2024 from the previously announced March 2024 debut.
The sequel reportedly will follow up the original showdown between Godzilla and Kong with a new adventure that pits them against “a colossal, undiscovered threat hidden within our world that challenges their very existence.”
The new film also delves further into the histories of these two Titans and the mysteries of Skull Island “while uncovering the mythic battle that helped forge these beings and tied them to humankind.”
The film’s human stars include Rebecca Hall, Brian Tyree Henry, Kaylee Hottle, Dan Stevens, Fala Chen, Alex Ferns and Rachel House.
