The Legendary MonsterVerse is on its way to a living room near you.

Looking to expand the scope of the popular Silver Screen MonsterVerse–populated by Godzilla, Kong and other towering Titans–Legendary Entertainment is teaming up with Apple TV+ on an order for a new, original live-action TV series based on the King of the Monsters and his court.

The series–according to a report on Deadline–was created by Chris Black (Star TrekEnterprise) and Matt Fraction (Hawkeye)–with Black serving as showrunner–and is produced by Legendary Television.

The series–which does not have a debut date at this time–will pick up after the battle between Godzilla and the Titans “that leveled San Francisco” and proved that monsters are real, according to the synopsis. The show will explore one family’s journey “to uncover its buried secrets and a legacy linking them to the secret organization known as Monarch.”

The Legendary MonsterVerse consists of the 2014 Godzilla reboot, KongSkull Island (2017), GodzillaKing of the Monsters (2019) and the 2021 Godzilla vsKong blockbuster. The franchise has raked in a combined $2 billion worldwide.

Last year’s Godzilla vsKong–directed by Adam Wingard–found Kong battling Godzilla, as humans lure the great ape into the Hollow Earth to retrieve a power source for a secret weapon to stop Godzilla’s rampages. Garnering generally positive reviews, the film grossed more than $467 million worldwide.
