George P. Wilbur–who made his mark on the horror genre by playing Michael Myers in two chapters of the Halloween franchise–has passed away at the age of 81.
Wilbur–who played the masked icon in Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers and Halloween 6: The Curse of Michael Myers–also was a stunt performer in Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers.
Wilbur–a member of the Hollywood Stuntmen’s Hall of Fame–started his career as a stand-in for John Wayne in the 1960s, and went on to compile more than 100 film and TV credits.
As an actor, Wilbur appeared in 1984’s Firestarter, The Running Man and Ghostbusters II. His stunt work credits included Planet of the Apes, Poltergeist, The Monster Squad, A Nightmare on Elm Street 5: The Dream Child, The Exorcist III and The Silence of the Lambs.
Wilbur is survived by his daughter Gena.
