Gaten Matarazzo: Season 4 of ‘Stranger Things’ Will Be More “Mature”

by Robert Wilson

Stranger Things actor Gatten Matarazzo says that season 4 of the popular Netlix series will be more mature and continue to incorporate the growing pains of its cast and characters.

According to Matarazzo, the writers (Duffer brothers) have incorporated the growing pains of both the actors and their characters. “As we are growing older as people, we have to grow older as characters” Matazarro said. “They’re confronted by this issue, but they embrace it, and use it to their advantage. And they don’t freak out when we get taller or when our voices drop or anything like that. They use it and they use it as ammunition for their writing. It’s incredible what they can do. Working with them, it’s just exceptional. Always has been.”

When speaking of the tone that the fourth season will take, he said “I think the tone is definitely matured for sure. They do that on purpose because I think they want their show to mature with their kids.”

Season 3 ended with Eleven and the Byers moving away from Hawkins. With the trailer for season four showing a still living Hopper and The Russians conducting experiments with the Upside Down, it is safe to assume they will be coming back to Hawkins at some point during the season. Joining the cast of season four as series regulars are; Jamie Campbell Bower, Eduardo Franco, and Joseph Quinn. There is currently no official release date for Stranger Things season 4
