Funko Announces New Line of Pennywise Pop! Vinyls

As with most major toy manufacturers, Funko made quite a splash at San Diego Comic-Con 2017 with the reveal for several convention exclusives.  However, for horror fans they may have saved their best announcement for afterwards.  On Monday afternoon, Funko announced (via their Facebook page) that they will be releasing four different Pop! vinyl versions of IT‘s most lovable little rascal, Pennywise the clown.  While we’re sure that the members of the Losers’ Club aren’t far behind, Funko is putting its best (and scariest) foot forward in unleashing the cosmic shape-shifter upon the collecting masses.

The latest (and first big screen) adaptation of Stephen King’s incredible novel, IT will be released in theaters nationwide on September 8th, 2017.  The much-anticipated film, starring Bill Skarsgård as Pennywise and Stranger Things’ Finn Wolfhard, is expected to do huge numbers at the box office and with merchandising.  As they have with many other releases, Funko will also have retailer exclusive versions of the evil clown (for both Walmart and Hot Topic).  And of course, what would a collectable release be without a chase variant?  In this case, a “sepia chase” version will be released in a 1-in-6 ratio with shipments sent to stores.

The Pennywise with boat and Pennywise with boat (sepia chase) Pop! vinyl figures are available in most locations now.  The Walmart exclusive “Pennywise with wig” and Hot Topic exclusive “Pennywise with balloon” versions will be available in early September, just in time for the film’s release.  Let’s hope they float…..but of course, we all float down here.
