The much-anticipated (and much-hyped) Interview with the Vampire–AMC’s adaptation of the 1976 Anne Rice horror classic–is mere weeks away now, and a full trailer has emerged that affords the best look yet at the series. Check out the video on this page.
The seven-episode first season–from creator and showrunner Colin Jones–begins Oct. 2, and follows Lestat (Sam Reid), Louis (Jacob Anderson) and Claudia (Bailey Bass) in an “epic story of love, blood and the perils of immortality,” according to the logline.
In the show, Louis finds Lestat’s offer to join him as his vampire companion “impossible to resist.” But Louis’ new powers come with a price–“and the introduction of the child vampire Claudia sends them on a long path of revenge and atonement.”
Bass recently described her role as Claudia as being “extremely complex–but that makes it fun. I wanted the challenge.” Claudia, Bass said, feels “so many emotions because she’s stuck in this 14-year-old body. She’s constantly going off-feeling, and she feels things so deeply”
The series also stars Eric Bogosian as the interviewer Daniel Molloy, Assad Zaman as Rashid and Kalyne Coleman as Grace, Louis’ sister.
