Sometimes evil wants to be seen.
Watcher–a new horror entry from IFC Films and Shudder that enjoyed a successful premiere at this year’s Sundance Film Festival–hits theaters and VOD next month, and the full trailer was released this week. Check out the video and poster for the film–courtesy of screenrant.com–on this page.
The movie–which lands in theaters June 3 and will be available on-demand June 21–is directed by Chloe Okuno from a screenplay she wrote with Zack Ford. The cast is led by Maika Monroe (It Follows), Karl Glusman (The Neon Demon) and Burn Gorman (Game of Thrones).
In Watcher, Julia (Monroe) joins her husband (Glusman) when he relocates to his family’s native Romania to start a new job. One evening, Julia spots a “vague figure in an adjacent building who seems to be looking back at her,” according to the synopsis.
Soon after, while alone in a movie theater, Julia’s sense of being watched intensifies, “and she becomes certain she’s being followed. Meanwhile, a serial killer known as The Spider stalks the city.”
Watcher–produced by Roy Lee, Steven Schneider, Derek Dauchy, John Finemore, Aaron Kaplan and Mason Novick–also features Gabriela Butuc, Cristina Deleanu, Daniel Nuta and Madalina Anea.
