‘Friday the 13th’ Prequel series seems to be in Disarray

by Rob Caprilozzi

Crystal Lake, the Friday the 13th planned prequel from A24 and Peacock, has been much talked about among horror fans, and for good reason. In may, we reported on the news that Bryan Fuller was removed as showrunner leaving the series in a state of uncertainty.

Today we learned, via The Wrap, more on the series, and the chaos that has occurred behind the scenes. Several Crystal Lake team members spoke in confidentiality to the entertainment site stating that the show was over budget, and there were numerous battles between showrunners and executives.

In addition, each episode of the series was supposed to have a budget of around $9.6 million, but according to what one source told the Wrap, A24 had wanted to slice that number in half.

Another source close to A24 says that they still “Believe in the show. We’re going to make it.”

I guess only time will tell if we see Crystal Lake on the small screen. Keep it locked to Horror News Network for more on Friday the 13th.
