Freeform Announces Line-Up for Upcoming ’31 Nights Of Halloween’ Programming

Freeform (formally known as ABC Family) announced plans today to continue their expanded celebration of Halloween-themed programming on the network during the entire month of October with their second annual 31 Nights of Halloween schedule.

Freeform formerly hosted only 13 Nights of Halloween, but following last year’s success (and everyone’s insatiable appetite for all things Halloween) the programmers decided to continue the new tradition and announced the news on twitter today.

As evidenced by the above tweet, Ghostbusters and its sequel Ghostbusters 2 will be added to the line-up, as well as the Scream trilogy. Other Halloween staples will include Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas and The Addams Family.  And just in case you miss a broadcast or two, Freeform will show Hocus Pocus a total of 27 times during the month of October.

As far as new material, Halloween Extravaganza Bash (the current working title) will be (according to Deadline) “a celebration of Halloween’s biggest pop culture moments. The special will honor movies, TV shows and music artists who’ve become synonymous with Halloween.”

Stay tuned for further Halloween announcements (it is still only May, but who’s counting) right here on Horror News Network.
