Frank McLaughlin art exhibit coverage

This past weekend, staff member, Daniel Ramirez attended a free art gallery exhibit featuring Frank McLaughlin.

Frank has worked on comics such as Captain America, Batman, and Green Lantern. He’s worked in Connecticut almost all his life which to me explained what he was doing in my state. Along with working in the industry since the early 60’s, Frank has done freelance work for both Marvel and DC. In the 1980s, McLaughlin was regular inker/penciler Carmine Infantino’s The Flash, Gene Colan’s Wonder Woman, and Dan Jurgens’ Green Arrow, among other assignments. McLaughlin has taught at the Paier College of Art in Hamden, Connecticut and Guy Gilchrist’s Cartoonist’s Academy in Simsbury, Connecticut. He co-developed the literacy program “Writing to Read” for the JHM Corporation through Nova University, in which comic-book storytelling was used to teach and encourage reading. He’s written books like “How to Draw Bodacious Babes in Comics” and for the horror fans, “How to Draw Monsters for Comics.”
