Francis Galluppi to Direct New ‘Evil Dead’ Film

“Hail to the king, baby”

Today was a big news day for fans of The Evil Dead franchise as Francis Galluppi (The Last Stop in Yuma County) will write and direct a new Evil Dead movie for Sam Raimi and Robert Tapert’s Ghost House Pictures, according to a report on Deadline.

While no official plot has been revealed yet, the project is said to be an original story by Galluppi that he pitched to Sam Raimi.

Raimi told Deadline “Francis Galluppi is a storyteller who knows when to keep us waiting in simmering tension and when to hit us with explosive violence. He is a director that shows uncommon control in his feature debut.”

Back in February we reported that Sebastien Vanicek (Infested) will co-write and direct a new spin-off of The Evil Dead. This presumably now makes two Evil Dead films in production.
