This pizza parlor delivers.
Five Nights at Freddy’s–the Blumhouse take on the popular 2014 horror video game–enjoyed a strong opening weekend at the box office, and also debuted on Peacock to the obvious delight of fans.
The film–directed by Emma Tammi from a screenplay she wrote with game creator Scott Cawthon and Seth Cuddeback–has become Peacock’s most-watched film or series ever, beating out Halloween Ends, according to a report on Deadline.
In addition, Peacock says the movie is its most-watched entertainment title across all genres and the biggest opening ever for a film on Peacock through its first five days.
The feature follows Mike Schmidt (John Hutcherson), a night security guard at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza, who finds out how dangerous his job is when the previously cuddly animatronic creatures come to violent life.
Rounding out the cast are Matthew Lillard, Mary Stuart Masterson, Elizabeth Lail and Kat Conner Sterling.
