‘Five Nights at Freddy’s’ Sequel Announced

Get ready for more of the creepy animatronics.

Universal’s President of Domestic Theatrical Distribution, Jim Orr took center stage at CinemaCon on Wednesday to announce that the sequel to Five Nights at Freddy’s is currently in production and will be released in the fall of 2025.

The Blumhouse adaptation of the video game was a hit with fans and critics, so it was only a matter of time before we received the official news of a sequel being greenlit.

Directed by Emma Tammi, Five Nights at Freddy’s starred Josh Hutcherson, Elizabeth Lail, Piper Rubio, Mary Stuart Masterson and Matthew Lillard. Released on October 25, 2023, the film took in $297.2 million on a budget of only $20 million. In addition, the film, which was released on Peacock the same day was also the most watched title ever in a weekend on the streamer.
