The First Trailer for Stephen King’s “The Dark Tower” is Here

“The man in black fled across the desert, and the gunslinger followed.”

Fans of Stephen King’s epic “Dark Tower” series have waited many, many years for a film adaptation of the story of Roland Deschain and his quest for the Tower. Well, the wait is nearly over and the first trailer hit the mighty interwebs today. While it remains to be seen how they handle the giant world(s) of the mammoth eight-book series, from the trailer it seems that they may have made and action film out of it.

Starring Idris Elba as Roland Deschain (the gunslinger) and Matthew McConaughey as Walter o’Dim (the man in black), the story tells of Roland’s quest for the Tower and how the man in black tries to thwart him every step of the way. Roland is also joined by a boy from our when (New York) named Jake Chambers (Tom Taylor) who plays several integral parts to the tale.

Check out the trailer below and let us know what you think. The film is set to drop on August 4th.

“Go then, there are other worlds than these.”
