The eight-episode series–written, directed and produced by acclaimed filmmaker Mike Flanagan (The Haunting series, Midnight Mass)–hits Netflix Oct. 12, and follows Roderick Usher (Bruce Greenwood) as he reveals secrets of his mysterious house and twin sister Madeline (Mary McDonnell) to a childhood friend.
The friend eventually learns that Madeline Usher has been placed in the family vault–but she’s not quite dead. And, when she shows up in a blood-stained shroud, “the visitor rushes to leave–as the house splits and sinks into the lake.”
The cast also includes Carla Gugino, Carl Lumbly, Samantha Sloyan, Henry Thomas, T’Nia Miller, Mark Hamill and Kate Siegel.
