This time, Anne Rice is bringing the witches.

Following up its small-screen adaptation of the bestselling author’s Interview with the Vampire, AMC this week unveiled a teaser trailer for the upcoming Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches. Check out the video on this page.

The eight-episode first season–based on Rice’s Lives of the Mayfair Witches trilogy–is led by executive producers Mark Johnson, Esta Spalding and Michelle Ashford, with Spalding and Ashford also writing the series.

Set to debut on AMC and AMC+ early next year, Mayfair Witches stars Alexandra Daddario as Dr. Rowan Fielding, an “intuitive young neurosurgeon who discovers she’s the unlikely heir to a family of witches,” according to the logline. As she grapples with her newfound powers, she “must contend with a sinister presence that has haunted fer family for generations.”

The series also stars Harry Hamlin as Cortland Mayfair, patriarch of the Mayfair clan; Jack Huston as Lasher, a shape-shifting entity who’s been bound to the Mayfair witches for hundreds of years; Annabeth Gish as Diedre; Beth Grant as Carlotta; Erica Gimpel as Ellie; Jen Richards as Jojo; and Tongayi Chirisa as Ciprien.
