Make this call in October.
Just yesterday, it was reported that the small-screen adaptation of Stephen King’s Mr. Harrigan’s Phone would hit Netflix Oct. 5, and now several images have dropped to show the characters involved in the story. Check out the photos–courtesy of comicbook.com–on this page.
The film–based on King’s novella that appeared in the 2020 collection If It Bleeds–is written and directed by John Lee Hancock, and follows a young boy, Craig (Jaeden Martell), who befriends an old, reclusive billionaire, Mr. Harrigan (Donald Sutherland), according to the synopsis.
The two “form an unlikely bond over their love of books and reading. But when Mr. Harrigan passes away, Craig discovers that not everything is dead and gone–and finds he can communicate with his friend from the grave through an iPhone that was buried with him.”
The film–which King has called “nothing short of brilliant”–also stars Joe Tippett as Craig’s father, Kirby Howell-Baptiste as Ms. Hart, Colin O’Brien as a younger Craig and Cyrus Arnold as Kenny Yankovich.
The Blumhouse Productions movie is produced by Jason Blum, Ryan Murphy and Carla Hacken.
