Forget the glass slipper this time.
Cinderella’s Curse–not be confused with Cinderella’s Revenge, also in production now (believe it or not)–is aiming for an October theatrical release, and several images dropped this week to set the bloody stage. Check out the photos–courtesy of Variety–on this page.
This new bizarre take on the classic children’s tale–from ITN Studios (Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey)–is directed and produced by Louisa Warren from a screenplay by Harry Boxley. The cast includes Kelly Rian Sanson as Cinderella–along with Chrissie Wunna and Danielle Scott.
The too-brief (but kinda obvious) tagline for the feature says that “Cinderella goes on a massacre at the ball.”
Warren expounds on that description, calling the film “an incredibly unique spin on Cinderella. There are going to be some truly horrific deaths at her hands. I think the gore hounds are in for a treat in my dark retelling.” Truly a fractured fairy tale.
