First-Look Image Arrives For Horror Feature ‘Azrael’

Some sacrifices are worse than others.

Azrael–a new supernatural horror pic from C2 Motion Picture Group–is now in post-production, and a first-look image has dropped. Check out the bloody photo–courtesy of Deadline–on this page.

The film–directed by E.L. Katz (The Haunting of Bly Manor) from a screenplay by Simon Barrett (You’re Next)–will be shopped by Mossbank, CAA Media Finance and UTA ahead of this month’s European Film Market.

The just-revealed synopsis for the feature–starring genre veteran Samara Weaving (Ready or Not, Scream VI)–places the film “in a world where no one speaks, and follows a devout, female-led community that hunts down a young woman who has escaped imprisonment.”

Recaptured  by the leaders, Azrael (Weaving) will be sacrificed “to pacify an ancient evil deep within the surrounding wilderness–but she has other ideas.”

The film is produced by Dan Kagan, Dave Caplan and Barrett, with Jason Cloth and Katrin Kissa serving as executive producers.
