It will find you. Of course it will.
The Reef: Stalked–from RLJE Films and Shudder–will dive into theaters (and onto the horror streamer) this Friday, July 29, and a final, finny trailer has dropped to set your pulses pounding. Check out the clip–courtesy of firstshowing.net–on this page.
The aquatic thriller–a sequel to 2010’s The Reef that brings back writer/director Andrew Traucki–follows Nic (Teressa Liane), who sets out with some friends for a kayaking and diving adventure “in an effort to heal after witnessing her sister’s horrific murder,” according to the synopsis.
But, as you might expect, things get ugly real fast, as the women are “stalked and attacked by a great white shark. To survive, they must band together–and Nic will have to overcome her post-traumatic stress, face her fears and slay the monster.” This woman has no luck at all.
The film also stars Ann Truong (Cowboy Bebop), Saskia Archer (Ghosted), Kate Lister (Unhinged) and Tim Ross (Harrow).
The original The Reef--which scored high marks for its real-life shark footage–did well at the box office, swimming away with $4 million on a budget of just $125,000.
