Final ‘Morbius’ Trailer Packs Strong Horror Gut-Punch

“Just accept who you are…the bad guy.”

This is just one of the less-than-helpful bits of advice given to Dr. Michael Morbius in the final trailer of Marvel and Sony’s Morbius, the much-delayed horror entry that will finally hit theaters April 1. Check out the terror-tinged action in the video–courtesy of firstshowing.net–on this page.

Morbius–directed by Daniel Espinosa from a screenplay by Matt Sazama, Art Marcum, Matt Holloway and Burk Sharpless–stars Oscar winner Jared Leto in the titular role, along with Jared Harris, Tyrese Gibson, Adria Arjona, Matt Smith and Michael Keaton (who reprises his role as Adrian Toomes, aka the Vulture from the Spider-Man universe).

In the film, Morbius, a scientist who suffers from a rare blood disorder, “attempts a desperate gamble,” according to the logline. “While at first it seems to be a radical success, a darkness inside him is unleashed. Will good override evil–or will Morbius succumb to his mysterious new urges?”

The Marvel Comics Morbius character–created by writer/editor Roy Thomas and artist Gil Kane–first appeared as a villain in The Amazing SpiderMan No101 in 1971, and later starred in the black-and-white Vampire Tales from 1973-1975.
