Featurette For ‘Smile’ Drops Before Debut Late This Month

by Thomas Tuna

Once you see that smile, it’s too late.

Smile–an unsettling horror pic from writer/director Parker Finn–hits the big screen Sept. 30 and a new featurette has been unveiled that shines some light on that eerie grin. Check out the video on this page.

The R-rated film is adapted from Finn’s 2020 short film Laura Hasn’t Slept, which won the SXSW Film Festival’s special jury recognition Midnight Award.

In the movie, Dr. Rose Cotter (Sosie Bacon) experiences “frightening occurrences that she can’t explain after witnessing a bizarre, traumatic incident involving a patient,” according to the synopsis.

As the terror grows, Cotter must confront “her troubling past in order to survive and escape her horrifying new reality.”

Smile also stars genre veterans Jesse T. Usher (The Boys), Kal Penn (The Ashram), Rob Morgan (Stranger Things), Kyle Gallner (this year’s Scream) and Caitlin Stasey (Fear, Inc.).
