“Prepare to be really scared.”

Pet Sematary: Bloodlines–the prequel to the 1989 film adaptation of the classic 1983 Stephen King novel–lands on Paramount+ in a couple of weeks, and now we have a behind-the-scenes featurette to give a personal look at the film. Check out the video on this page.

The movie–debuting Oct. 6–is the feature film directorial debut of Lindsey Beer, who also wrote the screenplay with Jeff Buhler.

The storyline follows a young Jud Crandall in 1969, “who has dreams of leaving his hometown of Ludlow, Maine, but who soon discovers sinister secrets buried within and is forced to confront a dark family history.”

Before long, Jud and his childhood friends band together to fight an ancient evil that has gripped Ludlow since its founding–and one that, once unearthed, “has the power to destroy everything in its path.”

The cast includes Jackson White, Forrest Goodluck, Jack Mulhern, Henry Thomas, Natalie Alyn Lind, Isabella Star LaBlanc, Pan Grier and David Duchovny.

The original big-screen adaptation–directed by Mary Lambert from a screenplay by King himself–received mixed reviews, but still earned $57.5 million on an $11.5-million budget.
