Gators comin’ to getcha.
The Bayou–a new survival horror pic from Tea Shop Productions, the folks behind last year’s Fall–is scheduled to start production late this year, according to a report on Deadline.
The film–directed by Matthew Ninaber (Death Valley) from a screenplay by Gavin Mehrtens that draws from a story by Ashley Holberry–follows a group of friends stuck in the Louisiana swamplands “where they’re hunted by primordial predators–led by a ferocious alpha female gator,” according to the synopsis.
Megan Best (Seance) leads the survivors, “out of their depth, who are picked off one-by-one by a relentless pack of gators.” Visual effects outfit Koala FX–who worked on Fall–will handle the film’s VFX and monster creations.
Mehrtens and Holberry are producing the feature, along with Mark Lane and James Harris for Tea Shop.
