Evil Dead Rise had a memorable third weekend at the box office, placing third in the domestic race (behind blockbusters Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 and The Super Mario Bros Movie), and topping the $100-million mark globally, according to a report on Deadline.
The latest entry in the popular Evil Dead franchise now ranks as the highest-grossing installment in the blood-soaked series, beating out the fourth film’s $97-million total.
For this weekend, the movie earned $5.6 million from 3,000 theaters, bringing its domestic haul so far to a cool $54 million.
