The film–from writer/director Lee Cronin–lands in theaters April 21. And fans can expect a movie that’s “very serious, very gory,” according to producer (and legacy star) Bruce Campbell. “It’s not going to have too many laughs–other than uncomfortable laughs.”
Evil Dead Rise follows Beth (Lily Sullivan) as she sets out for Los Angeles to visit her older sister Ellie (Alyssa Sutherland). But the women soon discover a mysterious book in the bowels of Ellie’s building that changes everything forever.
The book unleashes an army of demons that forces Beth to fight for her very survival–as she faces “the most nightmarish version of motherhood imaginable,” according to the synopsis.
Joining Sullivan and Sutherland on this bloody journey are Gabrielle Echols, Morgan Davies, Nell Fisher, Mia Challis and Tai Wano.
