The Paramount Players’ film–scheduled for a theatrical debut Sept. 30–stars Sosie Bacon (Scream: The TV Series) as Rose, described as a psychiatrist plagued by something she believes is supernatural. Following a strange incident with a patient, Rose starts to experience inexplicable phenomena that only she can see.
Bacon–the daughter of Hollywood power couple Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick–is joined in the cast by Kyle Gallner (this year’s Scream), Caitlin Stasey (Reign), Rob Morgan, Jessie T. Usher, Judy Reyes and Kal Penn.
Smile is written and directed by Parker Finn, and is adapted from his 2020 short horror film Laura Hasn’t Slept. That 11-minute movie won the SXSW Film Festival’s special jury Midnight Short Award.
