Eli Roth’s ‘Thanksgiving’ Adds Another Actor To Growing Cast

by Thomas Tuna

There’s always a reason to give thanks.

Thanksgiving–a feature-length slice of horror based on Eli Roth’s mock trailer that appeared in 2007’s Grindhouse–this week added Addison Rae (He’s All That) to the cast before shooting starts next month, according to a report on Deadline.

Patrick Dempsey (Scream 3) has already signed on for the lead role in the Spyglass Media Group film. No release window has yet been announced.

Roth will direct the flick from a screenplay by Jeff Rendell. Roth and Roger Birnbaum will serve as producers.

The original trailer was part of Grindhouse, a horror double-feature written and directed by Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino. The two featured pics were Rodriguez’ Planet Terror and Tarantino’s Death Proof.

The trailer is a teaser about “a pseudo movie in which a slasher makes his own carving board out of the inhabitants of a Massachusetts town where the people make an annual fuss over Turkey Day,” according to the synopsis. Even Roth gets into the gory action–during one scene when he’s separated from his head. Extra cranberry sauce, please.
