Eli Roth Setting The Table For ‘Thanksgiving’ Horror Feature

Who wants to carve?

Eli Roth is finally getting around to a feature-length version of the mock trailer Thanksgiving he made for 2007’s Grindhouse, according to a report on Deadline.

The horror trailer appeared as part of Grindhouse–written and directed by Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino–a horror double-feature that combines Rodriguez’ Planet Terror and Tarantino’s Death Proof.

The Thanksgiving trailer is described as a “gory teaser about a pseudo movie in which a slasher makes his own carving board out of the inhabitants of a Massachusetts town where people make an annual fuss over turkey day.” In fact, one bloody scene involves Roth himself–separated from his head.

Spyglass Media Group is behind the Thanksgiving feature, which is slated to start shooting in March. Roth will direct and produce from a screenplay by Jeff Rendell, with Roger Birnbaum also on board as a producer. No casting choices have yet been announced.
