Maybe it is better the second time around.
Eileen Dietz–who played the demon Pazuzu in the 1973 classic The Exorcist–will deal with another tale of devilish possession when Of the Devil hits theaters in August, according to a report on Deadline.
The Uncork’d Entertainment thriller–written and directed by Kelton Jones (Dry Blood)–is based on a story by James Cullen Bressack. The film follows a family “desperate to find a cure for their young son’s brain cancer,” according to the logline.
But, when unconventional treatments “lead to the child being possessed by an ancient evil, the parents must fight not only for the child’s life–but also for his soul.”
Dietz is joined in the cast by Vernon Wells (Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior), Devanny Pinn (The Dawn) and Robert LaSardo (The Mule).
Uncork’d president Keith Leopard said fans of The Exorcist will “eat up this frighteningly fun possession thriller. It sent shivers up my spine.”
