We have a slower week to report on, fiends.  Only 13 releases, 2 of which are collections.  The Special Edition of 1977’s Shock Waves is out on Blu-ray and DVD.  Pleasant viewing.

Devil’s Tower (2014)

Synopsis:

Abused, broke, and down on her luck, Sarah is given a new shot at life when she moves into a new apartment. Masque of the Red Death (1989)

Synopsis:

Produced by Roger Corman (Bloody Mama), who directed the first adaption starring Vincent Price, this R-rated imagining of the Edgar Allan Poe (The Pit and the Pendulum) classic stars Adrian Paul (TV’s Highlander) fame and Patrick Macnee (TV’s The Avengers).

Night Must Fall (1964)

Synopsis:

In this thriller, Albert Finney stars as an innocent-looking but psychopathic killer named Danny, a Welsh bellboy who commits an axe murder near the home of Mrs. Bramson (Mona Washbourne), a well-to-do widow. Danny disposes of the body in a nearby lake and charms Mrs. Bramson and her maid, Dora (Sheila Hancock), into allowing him to stay with them. At Mrs. Bramson’s home, Danny plays psychological games with Mrs. Bramson while seducing her daughter, Olivia (Susan Hampshire). As the authorities close in on Danny, he engages in strange rituals with the severed heads of his victims, which he keeps in a black hatbox.

Synopsis:

Uncut (2014)

Starring:

Synopsis:

For the first time in UK film history, a thriller/horror/comedy feature filmed in one continuous 80 minute shot that puts you in the horror drama. Featuring Shaun Williamson (BBC EastEnders, The Invention of Lying, Ricky Gervais’ Extras, BBC Scoop), and Lois Winstone (daughter of Ray Winstone). The last performance of a pantomime is held at an old, isolated Victorian theater in provincial England. The show’s run has been a disaster, attracting only a handful of locals. The final wrap party afterwards turns out even worse and some of the cast and crew decide to slip away for their own private session in the theater’s creepy basement. Among the group are the enviable pantomime leads and real-life lovers Clarice and Nathan, the womanizing director Derrick and the thirty-something, obscure stage assistant Janet. As their private bash kicks off Derrick disappears, only to be found with his throat savagely slashed. When they discover that they’re locked in the killing continues. Paranoia grows.
