The Spanish-language feature–slated for Netflix July 14–is written and directed by Alex and David Pastor. The cast includes Mario Casas, Georgina Campbell, Diego Calva, Alejandra Howard, Naila Schuberth, Patrick Criado and Celia Freijeiro.
The movie takes place after a mysterious force has decimated the world’s population “by causing all who see it to take their own lives.” In this nightmare, Sebastian and his young daughter Anna “must navigate their own journey of survival through the desolate streets.”
As they form an alliance with other survivors and try to reach a safe haven, “a threat more sinister than the unseen creatures grows.”
The original Bird Box--directed by Susanne Bier from a screenplay by Eric Heisserer–stars Sandra Bullock as Malorie Hayes, a woman who tries to protect herself and two children from the creatures that cause people who look at them to kill themselves.
