Don Mancini Still Has “A Lot Of Ideas” For Chucky

by Jayson Drury

How would Chucky look in a space suit…or a set of fangs? Hmmm…

The hype machine for Chucky 2 is at full throttle. Just yesterday, Horror News Network posted several new images from the Syfy and USA hit show, and now–courtesy of Collider–more news has emerged from the horse’s mouth–series creator Don Mancini.

Mancini–during a recent interview–gave voice to some of the plans that may (or may not) materialize for the killer doll. Saying Chucky is “versatile enough and appealing enough” to be plopped down in any situation, Mancini could imagine the pint-sized terror in deep space–or even becoming a vampire or zombie.

“It’s something I’ve been thinking about,” Mancini said. “When you have an ongoing franchise, I spend an unholy amount of time thinking about such things. But one of the benefits of that is you have a lot of ideas–ideas for characters he can develop relationships with, and different realms he can operate in.”

One of those “realms” may appear in Season 2 of the show–which kicks off Oct. 5–as Chucky follow Jake (Zackary Arthur), Lexy (Alyvia Alyn Lind) and Devon (Bjorgvin Arnarson) to a Catholic reformatory school. Who knows what deviltry may arise in that environment?
